Jo Slijkerman

Jo is an environmental scientist at Water Technology with over twenty years’ experience in the private and public sectors. Her focus areas are vegetation assessment, waterway management and processes, environmental monitoring, reporting and riparian policy. She has worked in riparian areas, surrounding rivers and wetlands, as well as coastal, inland, and alpine zones. She has also developed waterway action plans and monitoring programs in collaboration with stakeholders which identify baseline condition, objectives and management approaches.

Jo has managed statewide, multi-disciplinary environmental projects which aim to change and improve the management and monitoring of environmental assets. Examples of this work are the development of a biophysical assessment method for Tasmania’s rivers and streams (the Tasmanian River Condition Index); and the Securing Priority Riparian Areas project in Victoria.
